place Jose Martí Viñales

Is there internet in Cuba ? YES!!!

Internet access is not as widespread as in your country. However, there are several possibilities available to you.
The easiest way is to go to an ETECSA (Cuban Telecom) office and buy prepaid cards. It is important to bring your passport to be able to make your purchase.
There are 1/2 hour, 1 hour or 5 hour cards. If you are a big internet user, we encourage you to take the 5 am session.
Queues can often be long, so you can try again during the day, to see if there are fewer people. Once the card is purchased, ask where you can connect. Each tourist town/village has an outdoor connection point. You will find a dozen of them distributed in Viñales. In addition, we will be happy to tell you about them.
For more information and up-to-date prices, connect to the ETECSA website. Attention, site in Spanish or English only.

🔥 NEW: For a few months, you can also buy a telephone line and mobile data in 3G/4G… A little more expensive, but really practical. See details in the ETECSA offices.

Tips:

Do not buy a card on the street from resellers, the rates are more expensive than in the official store!
Remember to deactivate your mobile data once on the plane leaving for Cuba. If you leave them, you will have an unpleasant surprise when you return. The costs are prohibitive!
